An Arrangement

One of my best girlfriends works at a resort in town assisting in event management. Last week she picked up a gigantic, fluffy centerpiece, posed for a photo, and emailed it to her boyfriend overseas...

"If we get married, I think mine should be bigger."

I can't even picture that on a table, let alone as a bouquet! It gave us and her boyfriend a good laugh.

Caped and Fabulous

I admire people, especially women, who are bold and fearless. I tend to dress in neutral colors (black, grey, white, navy and tan make up the bulk of my closet) and shy away from anything showy. I am uncomfortable in the spotlight, preferring to direct the action from behind the scenes.

Enjoying a Happy Hour with two my girlfriends at a Tempe watering hole, a young lady came into the bar wearing a neon pink cape. It could been seen for miles (well at least from a couple of shops over)! We three giggled, but I thought to myself, "Bravo!" I wish I had an ounce of that confidence this woman showed in her pink cape. Maybe one day I will strut my stuff in a tiara, just because I feel like it.

Doubtful, but I do think it would be a great laugh and a lot of fun.

Protester

a poor closeup from my camera phone

It is just an average day at the office, really it is like any other Wednesday. I take a look out my second story office window only to see a protester pacing just outside our parking lot. Working at a television station provides for some interesting views from said window. Just this morning Outback Steakhouse had a rather large food truck demonstrating their culinary delights in the same parking lot.

This particular gentleman has an interesting get-up of sombrero, Mexican blanket carefully thrown over one shoulder, and what I think may be a full, thick mustache though it might just be a shadow projected from his "K*** For Rent" sign and giant American flag flapping in the invisible breeze.

For the love of Eyeliner

I am a huge fan of black eyeliner. Having discovered the powers of rimmed eyes in eighth grade, I can safely say that it has been a staple in my makeup arsenal for most of my life. I used to go heavy and line the entire eye, even pressing it into the inner rims everyday creating a sultry weekend look. Nowadays I line just the top. Liking a bold and dark lash line, I have used a liquid liner couples with a Q-tip to erase my inevitable mistakes. Two weeks ago I purchased Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black. It is my absolute favorite new product.

  • It has serious staying power, lasting through a nine hour work day and an hour run in temperatures over 100 degrees.
  • The color is bold and pigmented.
  • The brush creates a perfect line and a great cat-eye.

4 Months and Counting

Happy Husband and I have been married four months today! We have been dating since October 2003, so I really felt that much would not change in our relationship as we have lived together five of those nearly seven years. I can honestly say that our little Happy Household is happier than ever! Humor me as I gush (just a moment, I promise)...
  • He loves me more than ever and shows it everyday in 100 ways.
  • He wants to take care of me as much as I want to take care of him.
  • We laugh until tears, nearly every night.
  • I still get butterflies when I look at him and jump excited when I hear him come through the door.
  • While I can't imagine our love growing more than it already has, I am thrilled to see what is in store.
